Came Into Existence
Kollengode Police station started functioning in the year 1934 at Kollengode in Palakkad District. Now it is in new building inaugurated on 17.12.2014. Kollengode Panchayath consists of 18 wards. Limit of Kollengode Police Station consists of 213.62 Sq.Kms.
Sri. A.Govindankutty Nair was the first Sub Inspector of Kollengode PS and Sri. T.P.Karunakara Menon was the first Circle Inspector.

Kovilakam Palace
By the closing years of the 19th century, the old kingdom of Vengunad (part of central Kerala's Malabar region) had become a loose affiliation, ruled by quarrelling chieftain. They were all joined by blood, separated by discontent and had vastly varying degrees of loyalty to the British East India Company.
 
 
The pleasant little town of Kollengode, in the Annamalai foothills, had by now its own Raja (King) who held title to the crescent of fertile farmlands beyond. By all accounts, he had a wasteful and arrogant temperament. When his niece, Dhatri, at age 20, becomes the senior lady of Kollengode, she wanted what most people of that age want. A little space. and so, Kalari Kovilakom was born, as a reaction to her uncle's tyranny. Here was a place of seclusion and serene vistas, where the daughters of the family could grow, away from the whims and vagaries of kings.
The palace (or 'kovilakom') that Dhatri built came to be known as 'Kalari', because it was built on a site that contained a ritual space for 'Kalari Payattu', Kerala's ancient martial art, still practised on the grounds.
The prestigious Palace is just 2 km away from Kollengode Police station and remains as the symbol of art and architecture of royal lineage of Kerala. Now it run by Casino group as Ayurveda resort
Seethrkund and Palakpandi water falls attracts people from. Lot of people visits this place to enjoy the beauty of nature. Palakapandi waterfalls also fascinating with its calm and serene flow.

Dams
Chulliyar Dam

Chulliyar Dam and the surroundings at Muthalamada Panchayath offer a strikingly beautiful panorama of natural scenery. The work on this dam across Chulliyar, a tributary of Gayathripuzha was completed in the year 1960. A view from this dam at the sky kissing Nelliyampathy mountain ranges is something wonderful and beyond description.
Meenkara Dam

Meenkara is a fascinating sport having garden, fish ponds and natural beauty. Its 12 km away from Kollengode Police Station. The Dam was constructed in the year 1960 across Meenkara River, asubtributory of Gayathri Puzha which is tributary of Bharathappuzha
