    The Office of the DySP, Narcotic Cell, Palakkad is constituted in the District on 31.3.1996 as per order No.S(a)-114123/03 Dtd.18.01.96 of DGP, Kerala & G.O.(MS) No.351/95/H Dtd.07.11.1995. Narcotic Cell Office is functioning at District Police Office Annexe, Palakkad.
    DySP Narcotic Cell is assigned as Nodal Officer of the following :-
    1). NDPS Act cases:- Reviewing the CD files of NDPS Act cases and issuing proper instructions to improve           the investigation.
    2). iAPS (Internal Administrative Processing System):- iAPS is a web based application to be used in the                 Administrative Offices of Police Department. The implementation of iAPS in the District is being reviewed           on daily and weekly basis.
    3). IMG Course for Police Personal:- The courses sanctioned by IMG (Institute of Management in                           Government) are being conducted to the Police Personnel in the District.
    4). Disposal of Unclaimed vehicles:- The unclaimed vehicles kept in the premises of Police Stations in                     Palakkad District are being auctioned through MSTC Ltd.
    5). PDPP Act cases:- Reviewing the CD files of PDPP Act cases and issuing proper instructions to improve             the investigation.
    6). COTPA Cases:- Reviewing COTPA cases and issuing proper instructions to improve the implementation.
    7). Abkari Act cases (more than 500 Litters Spirit & with Vehicle) :- Reviewing Abkari Act cases, in which                 more than 500 litters spirit with vehicle are seized, and issuing proper instructions to improve the                       investigation.
    8). Sexual Harassment cases :- Reviewing cases registered in connection with sexual harassment of                     women  & children and issuing proper instructions to improve the investigation.
